The Bush Administration and congressional leaders are working on a legislative economic stimulus package that could move through the process very quickly. Specific proposals will be emerging very soon but early estimates are that the package is expected to cost nearly $100 billion.

$202.5 Billion Needed For Wastewater
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) just released its 2004 Clean Watersheds Needs Survey, which estimates $202.5 billion is needed to control wastewater pollution. Delivered to Congress this week, the report summarizes the results of the agency's 14th national survey on the needs of publicly owned wastewater treatment works.

PA American Water Names New External Affairs Manager
Terry M. Maenza has joined Pennsylvania American Water as Manager of External Affairs. He joined the company on December 26 to direct statewide communications programs. In his new role, Maenza will develop and manage strategic communications plans including media relations, community relations, corporate social responsibility and local support to government relations activities and meeting the information needs of customers.
