NAWC Congratulates Members of 110th Congress
Washington DC, January 4, 2007 – Peter Cook, Executive Director of the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC), congratulated the members of the 110th Congress upon taking their oaths of office today. “NAWC and the entire private water service industry look forward to working with this Congress to tackle the many water challenges facing our nation,” said Cook.
“With Congress and the Administration’s renewed commitment to fiscal responsibility, we are confident this Congress will embrace policies encouraging sound utility management and utility self-sustainability and reject calls for new budget-busting, inefficient federal water grants and subsidy programs,” continued Cook.
Cook singled out Speaker Nancy Pelosi for special congratulations on her historic rise to lead the House of Representatives. “We know the Speaker is as dedicated to the provision of safe, reliable water service as the NAWC is, and we look forward to working with her in the coming Congress.”
The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) represents all aspects of the private water service industry. The range of our members’ business includes ownership of regulated drinking water and wastewater utilities and the many forms of public-private partnerships and management contract arrangements.
